Hi, I’m Jared.

I’m not a programmer. I’ve spent about ten years in an IT and operations role at a 24/7 business, the kind of job where you end up being the person who “figures out the computer stuff.” I can’t sit down and write code from scratch, and I don’t pretend to.

But I build software anyway. Working back and forth with AI, I’ve shipped a shared household budgeting app, a collaborative road-trip planner, an artificial-life simulator where creatures with tiny neural-network brains evolve and split into new species, a web page that tracks my aquarium’s water chemistry, internal tools for work, and I’m now building a horror video game.

People call this vibecoding: you describe what you want, the AI writes the code, you test it, you describe what’s wrong, and you repeat until it works. It’s genuinely powerful. It’s also genuinely frustrating sometimes. I’ve lost days to bugs the AI swore were fixed.

What you’ll find here

Build Logs walk through real projects from idea to working thing. Debugging Diaries cover what went wrong and how I got out of it. Workflows & Prompts share the habits that make AI coding reliable. Tools & Reviews look at the services I actually use. Tool Ideas are small, useful projects you could build yourself.

How this site is made

Fittingly, I use AI to help write it. Drafts are generated from my own project notes and experiences, and I review and edit every post before it goes up. If something here is wrong or out of date, AI tools change fast, so please tell me.
